Theses are exciting times for all of us. Today was Peyton's eighth grade graduation ceremony. She received an award for having straight A's, also received the award for the most outstanding Volley Ball Player and was recognized for serving on the Student Council. We are all so proud of you Peyton. This took place at 8:30 this morning and all of the kids were dressed up and Peyton looked beautiful.

My Aunt Edith passed away yesterday. She would have been 98 in July. She had a very clear mind and active until a few months ago. It was very hard to believe she was that old. She was the oldest in my Dad's family and we all loved her dearly. Aunt Edith takes me back to some of my earliest memories. I would visit her and spend the night and remember as a little girl that I admired the home maker that she was. She sewed, cooked and was very organized. She was so sweet and considerate. I remember the quilts that she made. She took me to my first basketball game where her son was playing. She drove me and my Mom to the hospital where I was admitted and treated for Polio. I was very young when all of these things happened but everything is so detailed in my mind. Through the years she was always there for me and my siblings for almost every important occasion we had and even the little things like school functions. Aunt Edith was a wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.
I'm not sure what year this photo was taken but I think it was approximately 40 years ago. From left to right is my Aunt Geneva, (still living) Uncle Elvin, (passed away) Aunt Edith, (passed away yesterday) my Dad (passed away) and my Aunt Pansy (passed away). Memories of everyone are so vivid, just like it was yesterday.

Last night was Brooke's 8th grade graduation ceremony. She was nominated for Family Science, English, Speech, Choir, and Science. She was awarded the metal for Science for the 8th grade. We were all so excited for her and very proud of her achievements and hard work. Bob was on call, working and very disappointed he could not be there. Casey, Peyton and Jack attended while John was out of town working. Of course Joy, Rob and Austin were there and very, very excited for Brooke. I personally want to add that she looked stunning!

Bob and I celebrated our 24th anniversary the other day. In the picture below we are at 8.O's in Ft. Worth celebrating Mother's Day. We originally planned to be outside overlooking Sundance Square but the weather was windy and a little cool. They had a table for us behind the bar and it was just fine. The food was good and so was the service. The most important thing was that none of us mothers had to cook and we were together. The photos following are of some of the kids and grand kids. We missed having Robert there and also Jane,Ben and Jake.
I just can't help but say that you can't get a picture of Jack these days without him making a face. I think it his age but it's cute anyway.
