While in Santa Fe we visited the Gallery of Nedra Matteucci.  They were featuring the artist " Micheal Naranjo."  His story is amazing.  He lost his eyesight in Vietnam.  It is hard to believe the detail in his sculptures from memory.  His sculptures all have their eyes smudged out.  He feels that if he can not see then  his sculptures can not see either.  The artist is Native American and lives near Santa Fe. Ironically Bob and I have a friend who also lost his eyesight in Vietnam and also sculpts western art in great detail.

We didn't take our camera in the gallery thinking we would not be able to take pictures. But, they said we could take photos so I used my phone.  The gallery also had a beautiful display of sculptures outside of the building in the garden area.  I have more photos to share later.

I am leaving Steamboat Springs with this beautiful photo of the Yampa River which runs along side the city.  Later I will have a few photos of Santa Fe. We stayed a couple of night there on our way home.

Today is our Grandson's 14th birthday.  It is so hard to believe how quickly the time goes.  This amazing photo is of Austin and his family was taken at Perdido Key Fl. this year.  From left to right is Austin's sister Brooke, his Mom Joy, and his Dad Rob.

Happy Birthday Austin! We love you.

Browsing through my photos from Steamboat Springs Co. I noticed this barn.  Maybe it is the artist in me but with the placement of the windows and decor on the side of the building it appears to be a face.

A Barn With a Face

After already doing a lot of walking and feeling tired I sat in the car for a while while everyone else took a walk in the Botanic Gardens in Steamboat Springs.  I really appreciated the pictures that Bob took.  Here are a few images. As you can see fall had already changed the gardens but it still looked beautiful.

We drove to the Denver Airport and picked Bob's brother Ronnie up then continued to Steamboat Springs CO. Ronnie's Grand-daughter Rebecca and her fiance Neco joined us for a couple of nights. They live in Colorado Springs.  It had been a long time since we saw Ronnie or Rebecca.  So it was a nice reunion.  I posted a few photos and have several more and will post them as I get time in the next few days.
