Jack's birthday was March 24th. At six years old he attends kindergarten, plays baseball and likes art. He told his Mom that he wants to be a writer. But then, a couple of weeks later he said he wanted to work at McDonalds. A few weeks ago he was visiting and asked if he could have some computer paper. After he was gone I noticed maybe his first book. It was stapled pages formatted as a book. On the cover it said "Wes Carley by Jack Larson" and under that it said "Bul" "Bul" "Bul" I am not sure what the bul was about but it looks like he has begun his writing venture.

Brent's birthday was March 22. He is married to Angie. He is a pilot. Brent has a "joking like" sense of hummer and because of that it is always tempting to give him a hard time. But, while he can dish it out he can also take it most of the time.
While Brent and Jack were opening their gifts Grandpa introduced Peyton and Brooke to the remote control that goes to the camera. I wonder what two 13 year old girls would do with that? Grandpa is always stirring something up.Posted by Picasa

We just recently discovered there is a little side road near our house that has a fenced in area with Peacocks. We make it a point to go that route when coming and going just so that we can look at them. They are so beautiful!

Good News for Bob!!!

I generally like to use my blog to share photos and current family events with friends and family. Sometimes it is handy to use it for more serious matters. Saturday Bob and I woke up and even made the comment that we had nothing planned for the weekend. We later realized that we don't always get to make plans for ourselves because sometimes something can happen that will either change your plans or make your plans. Saturday afternoon Bob had been moving rocks on the beach (now that the water is low) and went into the garage to get a chisel and hammer. As he was passing through the living room I stopped him while I read Linda's blog giving us information regarding my brother Tim's recovery from heart surgery. As he was standing there the hammer slipped from Bob's left hand. He picked the hammer back up and put it into his hands again and again it slipped out. He then realized he had no strength in his hand. Then his arm began to tingle. After that, the tingling moved to his side and stomach area. Then upwards to the side of his face and he tasted metal in that side of his mouth. He told me what was happening and I ran upstairs and brought him some aspirin. Bob was anxious to get into the car because of fear of it possibly moving to his legs. We could have called the ambulance but we would have been taken to the nearest hospital which is Decatur. Our preference is Grapevine because our Doctors are there. As we began to drive we were still trying to decide if we should go to an urgent care center but decided they would probably take him to an emergency room anyway. Once we were there they decided to admit him for tests. At that time his symptoms were gone except for the weakness in his hand. After spending the weekend there the test results were all good. They said he had a TIA (mini stroke). They put him on blood thinners and an aspirin a day. His Doctor will be monitoring him for the next six months. We are so thankful that there are no blockages or any narrowing of the veins. His heart is also in very good shape. Bob has no symptoms now and is feeling good.

We apologise if anyone did not get notified. We made a few calls, asked favors of some to call others and I sent out an email very late Saturday night. A few people told me today they didn't see the email or not until today. When there is a crisis it's not always easy to notify everyone as soon as you would like. There is just too much going on. Isn't Bob cute! He never seems to loose his sense of humer. (one of the reasons I love him so much)

Bob and Angie
The kids that live in this area came to visit. Angie and Brent brought some lunch from Jason's Deli. Joy and Rob bought a book and magazines for Bob and lunch the next day. John and Casey brought bagles Sunday morning. Thank you all for that. What may seem like little things to you meant a lot to us. Walt and Marsha also came to visit on Sunday afternoon. They called and said they wanted to drop by and were not bringing flowers and candy. But, they brought the newspaper. That was cool. Posted by Picasa
Joy and her Bob. That is what Joy calls him. "Her Bob"

This is "My Rob" Why not, If Bob is Joy's Bob, then Rob is "my Rob."

Umm! Brent holding Angie's purse? Oh my!
Not to change the subject but a helpful hint we learned while we were there is that if someone is having a stroke or heart attack not only should they immediately take an aspirin but they should chew the aspirin. This will allow it to get into the blood quicker.

Angela and Doug

We really enjoyed having Angela and Doug here. The temperatures here were in the 80's and they were about to go back home to minus eight and a blizzard the next day in Grand Forks ND. We wanted them to stay but they had to go back to the W word. (work) Make sure to check out Angela's blog because I know she is going to have many more pictures.

We love you guys! Come back soon!

Ok, on an earlier blog I said Angie has never taken a bad picture that I know of. Sorry Angie, even when you are making a face you still look good. Keep trying.
