Today Jack participated in a school walkathon to raise money for his school.  He did 28 laps.  Casey said he did more than last year.  It seems like a nice way to raise money.  He is getting some from me and several other members in the family. Good job Jack.

Yesterday Ben, Jane and Jake went to the Ryder Cup 2012.  Below they are holding a flag with signatures from Tiger Woods and Brant Snedeker.  They also went with their friends George and Laura.  The picture below them is of Tiger Woods signing Jake's flag.  I think this was very exciting for Jake.

Saturday was the beginning of baseball season for Austin's team.  It was great to see him back in action after his femur break a year and a half ago.  I think it is a blessing that our bodies can heal after injuries sometimes.

Austin, the starting of a new baseball season.

This is Liam.  Since his two lovely Grandmothers live out of town he asked me to be his stand in Grandmother Friday for Grand-parent's day.  I was delighted and honored to do it.  Liam is a very sweet boy.  We had lunch, went to the book store and toured many areas of the school.  I kept asking him to walk slower so I could keep up with him.  Once we got to his room he sat in his chair while I was standing against the wall.  He immediately asked the teacher if we could get a chair for Mrs. Cheney.  I am so impressed with his manors and sensitivity to others.

My Grand-daughter Brooke took this photo.  I thought it was so cool and sort of artsy that I wanted to share.

A couple of weeks ago Diana, Peyton and Jack's other Grandmother and I took the Texas Grand-kid's to Mooyah's for lunch the day before school started this year.  I love the phones now with the cameras because when you are not prepared with your camera you can capture the moment anyway.  It is so hard for me to believe just how fast the kids have grown and how quickly time flies. By the way, Mooyah's has a really nice burger wrapped in lettuce which is good if you are trying to avoid a lot of bread.

While in Chicago Jane and Ben had a barbecue.  They invited family from the Chicago area which included my brother and his family, Ben's parents and my nephew Matt and his family.  They also invited several of their friends.  This was nice because it has been a long time since I have seen some of them and some I have never met. It was such a pleasant evening and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
The photo immediately below is my niece Lisa with my son-in-law Ben grilling pineapple.  Lisa marinated the pineapple in Rum with some brown sugar and cinnamon.  It was absolutely delicious served warm with a scoop of ice cream.
