My sister Rhoda and her husband Rob visited us for the weekend. On Saturday we went to the Ft. Worth Boat Show and ordered a pontoon. No, it was not on impulse but after many months of research. We knew we would be able to look at different boats and different boat companies in one place to help us with our final decision. They were also running many sales. We should get the boat in about a week as there are many things to be done and to consider before delivery. The pictures below are like the boat we ordered which is in stock at the boat store. Bob and I seldom fish but it is something we may do in the future and many members of our family fish. The boat comes with a fish finder but Bob is going to the store this week and check out the upgraded fish finders also. We hired a contractor to come and modify our boat house so we can park the pontoon. We are looking forward to getting out on the lake for perhaps a picnic sometimes, reading a book, basking in the sun, fishing and just enjoying the ride.
The photo below is of Bob and Rob walking beside the orange palm tree.

The End of a Busy Day

After a busy day Bob and I sat out on the dock. We watched the fish jump and the ducks and birds fly around while watching one of our neighbors come in from a fishing trip and waved hello to another neighbor. The weather was perfect and we stayed there until the sun went down. Life is good.

The app "Words with Friends" for the I-phone is the latest craze with my family and friends. It is a scrabble game which can be played at the convenience of everyone playing by making a move then sending it to the opponent. Some games could last days or some less depending on how much time the players can participate. I play with my kids and sometimes my grandchildren in addition to some other friends. We all really enjoy it. I personally feel a connection with my kids. It's the next best thing to being there and playing the game.

Bob spent the weekend pulling onions from our lawn next to the lake. I cleaned enough to fill two freezer bags. There is usually a constant breeze here so I imagine that some seeds blew in from somewhere else and took root. They are absolutely delicious! Easy gardening!

A friend of mine brought me a bulb in a pot kit as a hostess gift at Christmas time. I set it aside and was waiting until I get some dirt to put it in the pot. After sitting there for a few weeks it started sprouting on it's own. My husband looked at the kit and said "this little packet IS the dirt." I potted it and a few days ago it started to bloom. I think it is so beautiful.

Easter Sunday Dinner 2010

Little kids seem to find their way to our house on Easter. I think that is because they know the Easter Bunny stops here too. They had a lot of fun with the egg hunt, the pinata and the Funny Putty. I enjoy watching them and their parents interact with the activities. Dinner was also delicious! We missed Angie and Brent. They went to Florida to see Brent's brother, his wife and new baby. Of course we always miss Jake and his family especially on these special events.
Click on older posts due to having many pictures for Easter 2010.
