My son-in-law Rob's Dad, Bob.

Bob and Lucy invited us to their home in Show Low AZ. for Thanksgiving. They have been building their house for the past few years until Bob had to have open heart surgery then cancer treatment. Bob is doing very well now which is one of the many things we were thankful for this year. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed their mountain retreat. This is a special memory for us.

Lucy prepared many fabulous meals during our visit. In this photo she made some delicious pancakes from scratch.
Make'n Bacon by Bake'n.
For a large group Lucy places slices of bacon side by side in cookie sheets and bakes at 400 degrees. She takes them out and turns them over once. When finished she places the bacon over paper towels. Delicious and quick!

This house was so massive and spread out that I had to take pictures in sections.

What do you do when you have a blended family and friends displaced from their immediate families and you all care for each other? You have a huge feast! Many members of our family will not be here for Thanksgiving so we had an early celebration. Three turkeys, one of which was fried with all the trimmings and more. Below are images of some of the loved ones attending. We also celebrated November birthdays which were John, Brooke, Robert, and Taryn's son Luke. Taryn and her family are moving to Colorado in a couple of weeks so we were also bidding them farewell. There were too many people to sit at one table. It was raining and we couldn't be outside resulting in everyone finding their little corner to eat. We had a wonderful time. As I looked around the room and saw so many people that I love and that came to be together I realized how blessed we are. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Happy Birthday Robert!

Today is Robert's birthday. With the exception of Angie and Brent we got together last night at Stratos in Dallas. Stratos is a Greek Restaurant with fantastic food. Since Robert is an assistant general manager at a very busy restaurant in Dallas his schedule conflicts with our schedule most of the time. As a result we don't get to see him very often. So last night was very special and we had so much fun. Robert got up and sang a rap song. He is very articulate with his words and timing and doesn't miss a beat. It is quite humorous to see a red headed white boy sing rap. We laughed a lot and really enjoyed the evening. We all love you Robert and hope that this will be a wonderful and memorable birthday for you.

Below are my Grandson Jake and daughter Jane. They live the Chicago area. Jane emailed these pictures to me and I thought I would share them with everyone. Jake was Davy Crockett. Jane won second place where she works and received $50.00. Not too bad!

Joy and Rob

Dressed as gangsters Joy and Rob had an open house for Halloween where the kids could use their place as a home base to "trick or treat." Friends and family also stopped by.

Click on older posts and you will see photos of Brooke on "Ice." Ice is her rented horse which she takes care of and can ride any time she wants. Ice lives in a barn near her house. Brooke decorated Ice and rode up and down the streets.
