My Aunt Edith passed away yesterday. She would have been 98 in July. She had a very clear mind and active until a few months ago. It was very hard to believe she was that old. She was the oldest in my Dad's family and we all loved her dearly. Aunt Edith takes me back to some of my earliest memories. I would visit her and spend the night and remember as a little girl that I admired the home maker that she was. She sewed, cooked and was very organized. She was so sweet and considerate. I remember the quilts that she made. She took me to my first basketball game where her son was playing. She drove me and my Mom to the hospital where I was admitted and treated for Polio. I was very young when all of these things happened but everything is so detailed in my mind. Through the years she was always there for me and my siblings for almost every important occasion we had and even the little things like school functions. Aunt Edith was a wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.
