The old town part of Sighisoara is located on the mountain overlooking the new part of town. We walked up the mountain on walkways and stairs made of stone. We planned to have dinner there and I think we made room for more calories by walking.
The church below is now a Lutheran Church. The church was established in 1298 then rebuilt between 1484 and 1680.
Every night at midnight bells chime. There are seven wooden figures. One emerges from the belfry and gazes over the lower part of the town. Two of the figures represent day and night and face the upper part of town.
